Dropscan Local · Shopify

Local delivery tracking without Admin access

Gig drivers scan QR packages in a simple app. Proof of delivery stays with you—and Shopify syncs the delivered email customers already expect.

Built for self-managed local delivery with temporary or gig drivers—not third-party courier fleets.

How local delivery tracking works

Run self-managed local delivery without sharing Shopify Admin or POS with drivers. From QR stickers to proof of delivery, every package stays accountable.

  1. 01

    Sync open fulfillment orders

New local orders arrive via Shopify webhooks or a manual sync. Each open fulfillment order gets a unique QR identity for package scanning.

  2. 02

Print QR stickers & invite staff

Print stickers for open local fulfillment orders, invite delivery staff to the dedicated app, and assign packages—or auto-assign evenly across active drivers.

  3. 03

Drivers scan pickup & delivery outcomes

Staff start a shift in the mobile web app, scan packages in transit, then record delivered, left at door, failed, or refused— with GPS and timestamp proof on successful deliveries.

  4. 04

Shopify status sync & customer emails

In-transit and delivered events sync to Shopify fulfillment status so customers receive native delivered emails—without drivers ever touching Admin.

Features for delivery tracking & proof of delivery

Package scanning, driver accountability, and Shopify fulfillment sync—designed for local delivery ops, not bloated fleet software.

  • Drivers stay out of Shopify Admin

Invite delivery staff to a dedicated mobile web app. No Shopify Admin or POS access required—drivers only see assigned stops.

  • QR stickers for every open fulfillment order

Print QR stickers for local delivery packages. Camera scan or manual 6-character entry keeps the workflow reliable on any phone.

  • Assign packages—or auto-assign evenly

Hand-pick assignments or spread open packages across active drivers. Staff leave blocks shifts and supports bulk reassign when someone calls in sick.

  • GPS proof of delivery

Capture GPS, timestamp, IP, and staff identity on successful deliveries so dispute resolution is evidence-based—not guesswork.

  • Native Shopify fulfillment sync

Sync in-transit and delivered events to Shopify. Customers get the delivered email path they already expect from your store.

  • Safe Mode for risk-free practice

Trial the full local delivery workflow with Safe Mode on by default—database updates only, no live order mutations until you are ready.

  • Offline scan queue

Drivers in poor-signal areas keep scanning. Queued events flush when connectivity returns so deliveries do not stall.

  • Call, Maps, analytics & activity logs

One-tap Call and Google Maps shortcuts per stop, end-of-shift cleanup for leftover in-transit packages, delivery success rates, and a full activity feed in the merchant dashboard.

FAQ

Straight answers on Admin access, proof of delivery, Safe Mode, and pricing—before you start the trial.

Do delivery drivers need Shopify Admin or POS access?

No. Dropscan Local gives drivers a separate mobile web app. They only see packages assigned to them—never your full Shopify Admin or POS.

How does QR package scanning work for local delivery?

Each open local fulfillment order gets a unique QR sticker. Drivers scan at pickup (in transit) and at delivery (delivered, left at door, failed, or refused). Manual 6-character entry works if the camera cannot read the code.

What is proof of delivery in Dropscan Local?

On successful deliveries, Dropscan captures GPS location, timestamp, IP, and staff identity so you can resolve “it never arrived” disputes with evidence.

Will Safe Mode change my live Shopify orders?

Safe Mode is on by default. Scans update Dropscan only and skip Shopify mutations, so you can trial a full delivery day without touching live fulfillment. Turn Safe Mode off in Settings when you are ready to sync.

Does Dropscan Local include route optimization?

Not yet. Drivers get one-tap Call and Google Maps shortcuts per stop. Dropscan focuses on package accountability, proof of delivery, and Shopify status sync—not fleet routing.

What happens if a driver has no mobile signal?

The offline scan queue stores scans on the device and flushes them when connectivity returns, so drivers can keep working in poor-signal areas.

How is Dropscan Local priced?

Billing runs through Shopify: $19/month access, a 14-day free trial on first approval, plus usage on packages first moved in transit—$0.30 for the first 30, $0.25 for the next 150, and $0.20 thereafter each calendar month.

Who is Dropscan Local for?

Shopify merchants who run self-managed local delivery with their own or gig drivers—florists, bakeries, meal prep, grocery, pharmacy, and similar. It is not a DoorDash/Uber Direct dispatcher or a heavy route-optimization platform.
